Getting to Mumbai >

Air
Mumbai is a major international gateway to India with international flights from most countries of the world. Air India and many other international air carriers operate regular flights to and via Mumbai. On the domestic sector, Indian Airlines connects Mumbai with most tourist destinations of India. In addition, private sector airline services also provide air-link to many important centers of the country. Air India also operates some flights on the domestic sectors.

The Mumbai airport has two wings; The Sahar International Terminal now to be called Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport and domestic airport at Santacruz.

Indian Airlines and many private airlines connect Mumbai with all major tourist centres in India.

Rail
Mumbai is the headquarters of the Central and Western Railways. Regular trains connect it with all major cities like Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Calcutta, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai, Nagpur and Thiruvananthapuram.

Road
Mumbai is connected by good motorable roads with all major tourist centers.

Ship
Damania Shipping Ltd. operates a regular catamaran service between Mumbai, Ratnagiri and Goa. The service is suspended during the monsoons. Running time is approximately 8 hrs.

Tourist Taxi
Rates vary according to the make of the car.
Imported Cars: Rs. 1500/- for 8 hrs or 80 km, extra Rs. 15/- per km or Rs. 100/- per hour.
Air-conditioned Ambassador: Rs. 1000/- for 8 hrs or 80 km. Non-airconditioned Ambassador: Rs. 650/- for 8 hrs or 80 km.

Metered taxi
Rs. 9.00 for first 1.6 km. Additional fare to be paid as per tariff card available with the driver.

Auto Rickshaw
Rs. 5.50 for first 1.6 km. Additional fare to be paid as per tariff card available with the driver.
